Take Me To Heaven- The Song Writing Room

Take Me To Heaven- The Song Writing Room

On February 25th, 2026, Bill Whyte walked into the room with a cheeky idea: “Love me like the devil, and take me to heaven tonight.” We both laughed, knowing we were about to write something a little “spicier” than usual. The funny bit? We were sitting in a bluegrass and Christian publishing office, literally right next to someone working on a very wholesome song. We couldn’t help but giggle at our little “sin.”

Bill’s one of my favorite co-writers—I mean, we’ve done “Wife Trial,” “Stones,” “The American Dream”—and now, this one. That day, I could only play the song in a super high key—couldn’t transpose fast enough! So, the work tape is basically me squeaking out the melody, but it’s real. And that’s what we ended up with—just a moment, caught in a song, shared with you.

Here is the original work tape from the day we wrote it—I hope you really love it. I’m so glad you’ve been connecting with the AI demo online, and I can’t wait to share the next part of the journey with you.
