Best known for her confident "Cheeky" blond curls, passion and sincerity.
23 year old, Katrina Burgoyne is one of Australia’s newest andmost promising singer/songwriters with every song boldlypainting an organic musical landscape of enchanting melodies,heartfelt vulnerable vocals, strung together with lyrics only tobe described as candid and honest.
In 2009 Burgoyne was awarded an APRA (Australian PerformingRights Association) Professional Development Award. The$12,000 grant sent her to music city Nashville, TN USA. WhereKatrina spent a month writing for her much anticipated debutalbum titled "White Flag.”
July 2010 saw the release of Burgoyne’s spine tingling debut single “Ghost” cowrittenby “Hillbilly Daddy” Bill Chambers. After posting a "sneak peak" of Katrina's“movie like”, thriller film clip on YouTube it shot straight to #36 most viewedmusician videos in Australia.
Ghost peeked at #16 on the Top 30 Country Tracks Chart, received airplay onABC’s RAGE, was awarded 2010 ASA Country song of the year, Australian CountryMusic’s Peoples Choice Award for Video Clip of 2010, ISC honorable mention,collected over 23,000 views on YouTube and wrapped up 2010 as Katrina's firsttop 10 charting single, peeking at #10 on Austar/Foxtell’s Country MusicChannel’s Top 30 Countdown.
Releasing her second single “I Wasn’t Gonna Cry” in February 2011. The single wasplaced as runner up at the 2009 ASA awards, hit the top 30 on radio charts acrossAustralia and has reached over 15,000 views on YouTube. The creative splitscreen music video shot straight up the CMC top 30 Countdown sitting at #5 justsix short weeks after release.
March 10, 2011 Burgoyne celebrated the independent release of her debut album“White Flag.” Not to be mistaken as a sign of surrender Katrina considers the truemeaning of “White Flag” is:
“Believing in ones self so much that against all odds others will believe in you too.”Distributed by WJO the honest “open book” album debuted at #9 on the AustralianCountry Music ARIA Chart, #4 Bigpond Country Music Chart, #21 Bigpond AlbumChart (All Genre) and #11 Leading Edge Music Chart.
Katrina’s personal “everyday, ordinary girl” approach filters from her hand writtentext in her album artwork to her self managed website and social networks. Heron stage presence is outstanding as she shares her secrets and makes fun, newmemories with supporters as if they are her closest friends.
